An Art Series For The Introverted Girlies!

Napping, lounging on the couch, reading, and solo dance parties — these are just a few of my favorite introverted girlie activities that I like to do when I’m home alone! In At Home, my latest ongoing introspective art series embodies the energy of these restorative solo activities. In a world that pushes us to be hyper-visible, chronically online, and caught in an endless loop of overconsumption and overproduction, At Home celebrates the joys of missing out (JOMO) while confronting the modern fear of missing out (FOMO).

As someone who is left feeling energetically depleted after social gatherings while also struggling with social anxiety, I have found the comfort and solace that I need in the privacy and warmth of being at home. It is a haven where my creativity can flourish uninhibited - a place where I can be as quiet or as loud as I want, but always unapologetically myself.

This idea of Home serves as a double entendre — the most obvious, a built structure of shelter that houses us, our loved ones, and our belongings. The not-so-obvious — our bodies, the vessel we are born into, and the only permanent structure we will reside in for the rest of our lives. Both of these Homes provide a much-needed respite from the pressures of maintaining an idealized online presence and curated digital identity.

In this era of needing to log off to “touch grass", the At Home series serves as a joyful reminder that there is fun, freedom, and profound meaning to be found offline and in the simple pleasures of one's personal sanctuaries. Through this body of introspective work, I celebrate the joys of missing out on the frenetic noise of the world in favor of being fully present at home with myself.

The pieces explore themes of modern life, isolation, self-acceptance, and finding pockets of tranquility amidst the chaos of the digital age. With tenderness and whimsy, they elevate the small, often overlooked magnificence that can be discovered in the comfort of one's private domestic realm.

At Home is an invitation to embrace the beauty of being a homebody, to relish in the forgotten contentments of solitude, and to rediscover the radical power of doing nothing at all!

This is an ongoing series that will continue to expand to represent new ways of celebrating being At Home.
